Royal Mail Panel Camera

The Royal Mail Panel Camera was manufactured by the W.Butcher & sons Ltd. company starting in 1906. Produced for a short time to accommodate a desire for artistically sized panel images. It produced three panel images sized 1 x 4 1/4 inches with one exposure on a quarter plate. Ideal for a full length portrait or landscape. The mahogany camera is fitted with three achromatic lens and is divided inside to form three separate cameras. A time and instantaneous shutter covers the three lens at the same time by pressing the bulb. The camera features rising and cross front, ground glass view screen for focusing, and a tripod mount. Originally priced at 25s.
